The Department of Parks & Recreation provides the most affordable and extensive network of recreational services throughout Brooklyn. Their recreation centers offer facilities such as indoor pools, weight rooms, basketball courts, and dance studios, art studios, game rooms, and libraries. All of their recreation centers offer a range of programs for people of all ages.
Brooklyn Parks & Recreation Centers abound in most Brooklyn neighborhoods. The New York City Department of Parks & Recreation is the chief steward of Brooklyn’s parkland. They keep three guiding principles in mind: increased greening, improved access to recreational and fitness opportunities, and using parks as a vehicle for community and economic development.
